Jo has delivered a considerable volume of work in her illustrative career to date. Fun, playful, human and dynamic are words that characterise her style applied to many familiar household brands.
Jo's styles are quite diverse largely due to transitions and evolving over time but also because she simply enjoys working within a variety of mediums and styles. She still loves the hands on approach - pencil on paper, paint on board, mixed mediums as well as pen to tablet.
Jo is inspired by colour, texture, pattern, spontaneity and has always had a very gestural, organic and often playful fun approach to her work. She enjoys working in different mediums across a variety of subject matters and areas including packaging, advertising, typography, photography and of course evolving personal work. She is well traveled and finds inspiration from different and diverse cultures, their peoples and their art important - from walking the streets of New York to sailing the Pacific ,the Greek Islands, the Galapagos Islands and beyond.
What Jo loves about the creative process is that as an artist she is continuously evolving, growing and adapting through problem solving, experimenting, pushing ideas, re-inventing herself and constantly being challenged.
And of course that there are no limits!
